Char Sui Pork

  • Any kind of pork (chops, ribs, loin, belly)
  • 3/4 cup honey
  • 1/2 cup hoisin sauce
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup dry sherry or rice wine
  • 2 tsp Chinese 5 spice powder
  • 1 tbsp minced garlic
  • 1 tbsp minced ginger
  • A few drops of red food coloriing

Combine all ingredients except for the port in a sauce pot. Bring the mixture to a simmer for a couple of minutes, then cool. Marinade the pork for 24 hours.

Cook as desired, grill or bake
